Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits of this warranty are in addition to those rights and to any other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods. The exclusions and conditions on this page apply to this warranty only and do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

This warranty is given by Shelters and Spanz Pty Ltd (ABN 70 679 002 852), trading as Container Shelters, phone 1800 683 838, email info@containersheltersaustralia.com.au. To be covered, a defect must appear within the 10-year warranty term. To claim, contact us by phone or email and follow the steps under "How to make a claim" below. You bear the cost of making a claim under this warranty, such as getting your proof of purchase, photos and description to us. If the claim is covered, we repair, replace or supply the part at no cost to you.

What's covered

The warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship, under normal use and conditions, in:

  • Hot-dip galvanised steel frames
  • PVC covers
  • Purlins, portals and other structural components

What's not covered

  • Normal wear and tear from everyday use, weather exposure or environmental factors
  • Damage caused by improper installation, misuse or modifications, including installation errors or modifications made by unauthorised parties
  • End walls
  • Ropes, or damage caused by rope failure, on older models
  • Accessories and optional add-ons that were not part of the original shelter package
  • Damage caused by acts of nature, such as earthquakes, floods and cyclones
  • Shelters used in non-compliant setups or for purposes they were not designed for
  • Consequential damage or loss resulting from shelter failure

Keeping your warranty valid

1. Install it properly

Follow the assembly instructions and use the recommended tools. Installation by an installer arranged through us is highly recommended, and keeps the shelter in line with its engineering and any site-specific structural certification.

2. Look after it

Tighten bolts and tension straps periodically, keep the cover clean, and repair small tears or loose fittings promptly. See our maintenance tips.

3. Use it as intended

Misuse, overloading, or use beyond the limits in the shelter's engineering, such as its design wind load or snow load, voids the warranty.

How to make a claim

  1. Get in touch. Email info@containersheltersaustralia.com.au or call 1800 683 838 with your proof of purchase (invoice or order number), photos of the issue and a short description of the problem.
  2. We assess it. Our team reviews the claim and may ask for more detail or arrange an inspection.
  3. We put it right. If the issue is covered, we repair, replace or supply the necessary parts at no cost to you. Where a repair or replacement isn't feasible, we may offer an alternative solution.

Engineered to AS/NZS 1170

All Container Shelters shelters are engineered to current AS/NZS 1170.2 wind load requirements, and site-specific structural certification by an Australian engineer is available. That engineering is a big part of why we can stand behind them for 10 years.

This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.
