CONTAINER MOUNTED SHELTERS
Shelters That Mount
Straight To Your Containers.
The most common way we mount a shelter, and usually the fastest. Baseplates weld to the containers for the strongest possible connection — or clamp to the corner castings where welding isn’t an option. Either way the containers become your secure storage and a big part of your hold-down.
Welded As Standard. Other Options When You Need Them.
A welded connection is by far the strongest way to fix a shelter to a container, so it is what we specify unless there is a reason not to. Where the containers can’t be welded — hired units that have to go back as they came, insulated containers, or simply your preference — we mount to the corner castings with twistlock beams instead. Nothing is welded, nothing is drilled, and the container goes back exactly as it arrived.
Welded Baseplates
Our standard and strongest connection. Baseplates are welded to the container top rail, rated for the full structural load, and it is what we will recommend where the containers allow it.
Twistlock Beams
For hired, leased or insulated containers. Engineered beams clamp to the corner castings — the same fittings that lock containers together in transit. Fully reversible.
Containers As Ballast
The containers carry a large part of the hold-down, so in most cases there are no piles and no concrete footings. The site still needs stripping and a compacted road base pad, and your wind region may call for extra ballast.
Storage Included
Lockable dry storage down both sides comes as part of the structure, not as an extra — and the shelter can be dismantled and re-erected if you ever need to move it.
Standard, Hi-Cube Or Double Stacked
Your container sets your mounting height. Check it against your tallest machine before you enquire.
| Container | Mounting height | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Standard 20ft / 40ft | 2.59m | General storage, vehicles, workshops |
| Hi-Cube | 2.89m | Tractors, trucks, tipping trailers |
| Double stacked | 5.18m / 5.78m | Loaders, aggregate tipping, large plant |
Overall apex height depends on span. Each product page lists rise above mounting and total apex height on both container types. For how mounting position changes your covered width, see Mounting Methods.
We Can Supply Them Too.
Plenty of customers buy, hire or lease their containers. Hired or leased units get the twistlock mount, so there is nothing permanent to undo when they go back — and the same applies on a leased yard.
We supply 20ft and 40ft containers Australia-wide, on their own or as part of a complete shelter package.
