CONCRETE MOUNTED SHELTERS
Cover Your Bunkers,
Bays And Bulk Storage.
A steel beam fixes along the top of interlocking concrete blocks or a precast wall, and the shelter mounts to that. You get a retaining wall and a roof in one structure — and the wall height sets your loader clearance.
Interlocking Blocks Or Precast Panels
Either gives you a solid retaining edge and a mounting point in one. The wall does two jobs: it holds back the material and it carries the shelter.
Interlocking Concrete Blocks
Stacked precast blocks, no mortar. Height is adjustable by course, walls can be reconfigured later, and blocks are widely available.
- Adjustable height by course
- Reconfigurable and relocatable
- Widely available
- No specialist groundworks
Precast Concrete Walls
Cast panels on a poured footing. Chosen for permanent bunkers, higher retained loads, or where a smooth washable face matters for hygiene or effluent.
- Higher retained loads
- Smooth washable face
- Permanent installation
- Suits effluent and food-grade
Covered Storage For Bulk Material
Keeping bulk material dry protects its value, cuts contamination and stops runoff leaving your site. What you are storing changes the wall height, the span and the ventilation.
Aggregate & Sand
Dry aggregate is saleable aggregate. Covered bays keep moisture content consistent and stop fines washing away.
Silage & Feed
Covered bunkers reduce spoilage on the working face and keep the feed-out area workable through winter.
Compost & Mulch
Controls moisture and reduces leachate. Ventilation matters here — tell us your process and we will design for it.
Fertiliser
Keeps product dry and free-flowing, and prevents nutrient runoff into waterways.
Salt & De-Icer
Highly corrosive and highly soluble. Covered storage can be a condition of approval.
Topsoil & Bark
Landscape supply yards use covered bays to keep product saleable year round.
What Is Your Loader Tip Height?
Wall height sets the mounting height, and mounting height plus shelter rise sets your working clearance. Get this wrong and your loader cannot tip inside. It is the first thing we ask.
| Wall height | Typical application | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1.2m – 1.6m | Landscape bays, small feed bunkers | Skid steer and small loader access |
| 2.0m – 2.4m | Aggregate bays, silage bunkers | Most common. Suits mid-size loaders |
| 3.0m + | Quarry stockpiles, bulk transfer | Retained height confirmed with engineering for your site |
Retained material exerts lateral load on the wall, so wall design and shelter design have to be considered together. See Ballast & Hold-Downs.

Send us your wall height, bay width and what you are storing. We will tell you the span that fits and whether your existing walls can carry it.
